Summary
A Companion Care Assistant provides non-medical care to EverSpring Home Care LLC clients in the client’s residence and outside of the residence as needed. Companion Care Assistants must be committed to the mission and vision of EverSpring Home Care and possess the desire to assist clients to maximize their independence and reach their fullest potential. Companion Care Assistants provide supportive services that involve monitoring and supervising the client to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. You may also perform home maintenance and organizing tasks, including light housekeeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow the established client care plan and/or service agreement
- Provide companionship, friendship and emotional support
- Talk, listen, share experiences, play games/cards, read to client etc.
- Remain in client vicinity at all times during shift.
- Remind client(s) to take medications
- Help keep clients in contact with family, friends and the outside world
- Engage in assistance and planning of client’s recreational activities and events
- Serve meals and snacks as needed
- Conduct light housekeeping duties
- Monitor and or pick up care supplies and resources
- May provide concierge services to include shopping and errands
- Report any unusual incidents and act quickly in cases of emergency.
- Document services rendered and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance to the immediate supervisor or Nurse Supervisor according to company policies and procedures
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies and procedures regarding private health information
- Participate in quality assurance reviews and evaluations
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat injuries (First Aid and CPR Certification)
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities, cooking with attention to dietary recommendations, and ability to effectively interact with clients, families, and EverSpring Home Care LLC team.
- If transporting clients, must possess and maintain a good driving record, valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
- Ability to read and understand short instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal language
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Possess effective communication skills, good time management skills and work ethic.
- Ability to pass a background screening, TB testing, drug testing, and health assessment.
