      Frequently Asked Questions

What is in-home skilled nursing care?

In-home skilled nursing involves professional services provided by licensed nurses in the client’s home. This type of care is designed for individuals who have complex needs that require continuous monitoring, specialized treatments, or recovery support. In-home skilled nursing includes medication management, wound care, post-surgical support, chronic disease management, and regular monitoring of vital signs. By delivering these services at home, clients receive personalized, high-quality care that enhances their comfort and quality of life.

How does a client become eligible for in-home skilled nursing care?

Generally, seniors who are homebound due to a medical condition or limited mobility and have a physician’s prescription for in-home skilled nursing care may be eligible. Other criteria that may make someone eligible include:

      • Needing supportive devices like crutches, canes, wheelchairs, or walkers
      • Having a condition that makes leaving home medically inadvisable

Please contact EverSpring Home Care with your questions about skilled nursing care and let us know how we can help meet your specific care needs.

What does in-home skilled nursing care cost?

The cost varies depending on the care needed. If you are considering in-home skilled nursing care for your loved one, EverSpring Home Care offers several payment options. We accept private health insurance, military benefits, long-term care insurance (LTCi), and private out-of-pocket funds to cover the cost of care that insurance may not cover. We will work with you to find the best financing solution to help you invest in your loved one’s care.

How does skilled nursing care differ from non-skilled personal or companion care?

Both skilled and non-skilled care provide peace of mind when help is needed at home. The key difference is that skilled nursing care requires a licensed prescriber order and medical oversight.

Skilled nurses are trained and licensed to provide care such as administering medication, wound care, and monitoring vital signs. This care is essential for post-surgery recovery and managing chronic conditions. Non-skilled in-home care focuses on daily support, such as assisting with mobility, personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting), and lifestyle tasks (housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and companionship).

Some clients may need a combination of both skilled and non-skilled care or one type at different times. Submit a Care Request Form to EverSpring Home Care so we can help you figure out what combination of services best meets your needs.

What are the benefits of having an EverSpring skilled nurse?

An EverSpring skilled nurse provides professional medical care in the comfort of your home, offering peace of mind for both clients and their families. Skilled nurses can manage complex medical needs, such as administering medications, wound care, and monitoring vital signs, which is especially beneficial for post-surgery recovery or managing chronic conditions.
